About the Coalition

We are a team of businesses, landowners, and organizations dedicated to ensuring the watershed's hard-won recovery is not undone by renewed proposals for industrial gold mining.

We stand together to protect our local economy and the irreplaceable health of the Blackfoot River that is the backbone of our livelihoods and a pillar of our community economies.

We stand together to protect our local economy and the irreplaceable health of the Blackfoot River that is the backbone of our livelihoods and a pillar of our community economies.

Local businesses, organizations, and landowners in Potomac, Bonner, Lincoln, Ovando, Seeley, and Missoula have united to safeguard our economy from the gold mining project proposed at the headwaters of the Big Blackfoot River.

As the Blackfoot River Business Coalition, we represent thousands of dedicated employees and their families who believe that our communities — built around one of Montana’s premier cold-water fisheries — are no place for sulfide gold mines.

To us, this is not a political issue; it is a fundamental issue of community stability, financial security, conservation, and preservation of outdoor assets. This is a matter of protecting our business interests, our community’s economy, and our collective quality of life.

Help us protect and preserve the Blackfoot River today, and for future generations.
